Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding challenge?
Protocol Education is working with a specialist PRU in Ferryhill seeking a Qualified Teaching Assistant for a September start. The school supports pupils with significant SEMH needs and challenging behaviours who require additional support to access education successfully.
This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments and are confident managing behaviours that can be unpredictable, disruptive, and challenging.
Your Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies
- Encouraging engagement with learning
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and self-regulation
- Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Contributing to a safe and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- Experience working within SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, or behaviour settings
- Calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build trust with vulnerable young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
