We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and provide dedicated support to a Key Stage 2 pupil with an EHCP.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and understands that positive relationships, consistency and patience can make a significant difference to a child's experience at school.

The role will involve:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support in line with the pupil’s EHCP
  • Supporting a neurodivergent learner with their individual needs
  • Helping with emotional regulation, confidence and independence
  • Adapting activities and resources to make learning accessible
  • Delivering literacy, numeracy and social skills interventions
  • Supporting small groups where required
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND
  • Understands neurodivergence and inclusive practice
  • Can build trusting, positive relationships with children
  • Is patient, resilient and emotionally supportive
  • Can promote independence rather than creating reliance on adult support
  • Is confident supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Takes a proactive and child-centred approach

This position would particularly suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Partner or SEN Support Worker looking for a longer-term role where they can make a genuine impact.
