Planning Manager - Data Centre
Project: 27MW Data Centre / Mission Critical
Location: Frankfurt, Germany (25 minutes from Frankfurt Airport)
Package: Up to €120,000 DOE, including €1,400 net tax free monthly subsistence + accommodation + flights + benefits
*EU Passport / Blue Card / German PR status required*
We are working with an established international M&E contractor delivering a major 27MW Data Centre project in Frankfurt, as they continue to strengthen their presence across the European mission-critical sector.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Planning Manager to take a key position within the business, supporting the delivery of a growing portfolio of high-value, complex Data Centre projects.
The role offers the opportunity to work at a strategic level within a well-established international contractor, while remaining closely connected to major project delivery. You will be joining a business with a strong pipeline in the mission-critical sector and will have the opportunity to play an influential part in the continued growth of its planning function.
This opportunity is offered on a 10/4 rotation with accommodation and flights covered.
Responsibilities - Planning Manager
- Lead and develop the planning function across a portfolio of high-value, complex Data Centre projects
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of planners, promoting consistent standards and best practice
- Oversee the development and review of detailed resource-loaded and cost-loaded project programmes using Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Review, challenge and approve project schedules before client submission
- Ensure programmes align with contractual requirements, project milestones, budgets and delivery strategies
- Identify programme risks, critical path issues, resource constraints and schedule pinch points, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
- Lead programme impact analysis relating to design changes, scope variations, delays and unforeseen events
- Monitor project progress against baseline programmes and provide forecasts on labour, cost and completion dates
- Support tender and bid teams with planning input, programme strategy and project delivery methodology
- Produce planning reports, dashboards and executive summaries while working closely with senior project leadership, commercial teams, clients and project stakeholders
Skills and Experience - Planning Manager
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline
- Experienced planned within construction, engineering, M&E, Data Centre, infrastructure or similar complex project environments
- Management experience leading a team on a Data Centre project
- Strong M&E contracting experience highly desirable
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience is essential, with good working knowledge of MS Project
- Experience developing, reviewing and managing baseline programmes, lookaheads, recovery programmes and progress updates
- Strong understanding of critical path analysis, construction sequencing, programme risk, change control and delay analysis
- Experience managing programme risk, identifying schedule constraints and developing mitigation strategies
- Experience leading programme impact assessments relating to design changes, variations and project delays

This role would suit an experienced Planning Manager, Senior Planning Manager, Senior Planner, Planning Lead or Programme Manager with strong experience across complex construction or engineering projects, ideally gained within Data Centres, M&E, MEP, building services, infrastructure or other mission-critical environments.
The successful candidate will be confident leading planning teams, developing robust project programmes, managing programme risk and influencing senior project stakeholders. They will bring a strong technical understanding of Primavera P6, critical path analysis, construction sequencing, change control and delay analysis, alongside the ability to provide strategic planning direction across multiple projects.
