I am currently on the lookout for a Senior Authorised Person for a role in Frankfurt, Germany. I am acting on behalf of a reputable Sub Contractor who operate heavily in the European Data Centre & Pharmaceutical industries.This is an opportunity to join a company who has projects commencing throughout the globe with exponential growth in their Data Centre Division.Benefits of this Senior Authorised Person role:
90 Euros an hour all inclusive10 hour days / 50 hours a week3 month ContractImmediate start
Key Responsibilities of this Senior Authorised Person role:
Overall technical responsibility for electrical safety (HV/LV)Ensuring compliance with all applicable Electrical Safety Rules, Safe Systems of Work, and project-specific safety requirements.Responsibility for the correct application of procedures for: Permit to Work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Control of Hazardous Energies, Energization/Operational ProceduresMonitoring the safe organization of electrical work throughout the entire area of responsibility.Review, release, and technical control of switching instructions/switching programs for HV and/or LV systems.Authorization and coordination of safety-critical switching operations.Ensuring that switching operations are only carried out by suitably authorized persons (APs / qualified persons).Control of planned shutdowns, switchovers, and commissioning, taking into account safety, availability, and project deadlines.Technical management and support of Authorized Persons (APs) in daily operations / project workflow.Clear assignment of areas of responsibility, authorization limits, and escalation paths.Quality assurance of AP activities (e.g., disconnections, PTW processes, documentation, switching logs).Coaching and further development of APs in safety and switching processes.Participation in the selection, evaluation, and appointment of APs/authorized persons.Ensuring that qualifications, training, and skills are up to date and documented.Conducting or organizing training, safety briefings, and lessons learned in the field of electrical safety.Maintaining and reviewing authorization and training records.Responsibility for audit-proof documentation of electrical safety and release processes.Conducting or accompanying internal audits, safety walks, and compliance reviews.Analysis of deviations, near misses, and dangerous incidents, as well as initiation of corrective measures.Escalation of safety-critical deviations to management/HSE/project management.Close cooperation with: Construction/commissioning, Operations/facility management, HSE, QA/QC, Subcontractors and customer representativesCoordination of approval processes, energization sequences, and operating restrictions with all relevant stakeholders.Ensuring clear communication in critical operating conditions and planned interventions.Safe management of electrical transitions from installation to testing, energization, and operation.Assessment of risks during initial energization and switching.Participation in the creation and optimization of operating and safety processes for subsequent regular operation.
Essential Criteria for this Senior Authorised Person role:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a responsible electrical engineering role, ideally in: Data Centres, Critical infrastructure, Industry / pharmaceuticals, Energy distribution / Commissioning.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing or supervising switching and release processesMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in instructing/supervising APs or comparable rolesEU Passport / Work rights are essential due to the urgency of the requirement.
