Job Title: Landscape Architect

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience

The Landscape Architect Role:

A well-established and growing developer is looking to appoint an experienced Landscape Architect to join its in-house design team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of landscape design across a varied portfolio of development projects, working from initial feasibility and site appraisal through to planning approval and construction.

You will work closely with internal Land, Planning, Design and Technical teams, as well as external consultants, to create attractive, functional and policy-compliant external environments.

Key Responsibilities of the Landscape Architect:

  • Lead landscape design input from feasibility through to planning submission.
  • Produce site appraisals, landscape strategies, concept plans and detailed proposals.
  • Support site acquisition and feasibility assessments.
  • Work with Planning and Design teams to develop layouts and masterplans.
  • Coordinate Biodiversity Net Gain strategies with ecologists and environmental consultants.
  • Prepare landscape planning documents, design statements and supporting reports.
  • Review and coordinate external landscape consultants.
  • Advise on planting strategies, tree constraints, green infrastructure and public-realm design.
  • Attend design reviews, planning meetings and discussions with local authorities.
  • Ensure proposals comply with planning policy, design guidance and environmental legislation.
  • Undertake site visits and construction-stage compliance reviews where required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three to five years' relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of landscape design, planning policy and placemaking.
  • Experience working on residential, healthcare, commercial or mixed-use developments.
  • Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Revit, SketchUp or visualisation software experience would be advantageous.
  • Chartered status would be desirable but is not essential.

Full UK driving licence.

This position would suit a proactive and commercially aware Landscape Architect who is comfortable managing multiple projects and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
