Protocol Education is recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a Gateshead school.

This isn't about simply sitting beside a pupil in lessons. You'll get to know how they communicate, what helps them engage and what strategies allow them to feel confident within the school environment.

It's an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate who wants to gain genuine experience working with children and young people.

Your Role

You'll provide individualised support throughout the school day, including:

• Helping the pupil engage with lessons
• Breaking down tasks and providing encouragement
• Supporting communication
• Helping with emotional regulation
• Encouraging positive behaviour
• Building confidence
• Supporting friendships and social interaction
• Promoting independence
• Observing changes in behaviour or engagement
• Communicating with teachers and support staff
