Behaviour Support Assistant

Every young person deserves someone who sees their potential, even on their most challenging days.

A specialist SEMH provision in Gateshead is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support students who require additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing challenging behaviour positively and consistently.
Supporting students in lessons and intervention sessions.
Delivering 1:1 mentoring and pastoral support.
Encouraging positive relationships and engagement.
Promoting emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Supporting pupils to achieve both academically and socially.

We are looking for candidates who:

Have experience working with young people.
Have strong behaviour management skills.
Are confident, proactive, and patient.
Can remain calm under pressure.
Are passionate about supporting students to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
