Protocol Education are seeking an experienced BSL Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Gateshead.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with hearing impairments and additional educational needs, ensuring they can fully participate in learning and school life.

What You'll Do

• Deliver classroom support through BSL
• Work closely with teachers and SEND professionals
• Support pupils' communication, learning and wellbeing
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs
• Encourage engagement and independence

Requirements

• BSL qualification or proven signing experience
• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Understanding of SEND and inclusive education
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Reliable and compassionate nature

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
