BSL Support Assistant - Specialist SEND School, Gateshead

Protocol Education is seeking a caring and enthusiastic BSL Support Assistant to work within a specialist SEND school in Gateshead.

This role would suit individuals from educational, care, support work or community-based backgrounds who have experience communicating using BSL.

Responsibilities

• Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired learners throughout the school day
• Translating and facilitating communication using BSL
• Supporting classroom activities and interventions
• Assisting with social and emotional development
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff

Experience Required

• BSL qualification or strong signing ability
• Previous support, care or education experience
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Genuine interest in SEND education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
