Protocol Education are recruiting for a resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEND school in Gateshead.

You'll support pupils who may require significant additional support with communication, learning, behaviour, sensory regulation and independence.

No two days will be exactly the same, so we're looking for someone who can adapt, stay calm and keep a positive approach when things don't go to plan.

Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm / 4:30pm
Pay: £98–£120 per day

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils to access learning
• Encouraging communication and interaction
• Supporting emotional and sensory regulation
• Developing independence and life skills
• Supporting transitions and routines
• Promoting positive behaviour
• Following individualised plans
• Supporting classroom activities
• Working closely with teachers and specialist professionals
• Monitoring pupil progress

Experience With Complex Needs?

• Speech and language needs
• Physical needs
• SEMH

Previous experience in education, SEND, care, residential care, nursing, youth work or support work is welcomed.
