Protocol Education is working with a specialist SEN school in Gateshead that is looking for a motivated and compassionate graduate to join their team as a Teaching Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, SEN support, youth work or social care.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Helping pupils access learning and classroom activities
• Supporting communication, confidence and independence
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Working alongside teachers and specialist staff
• Supporting pupils with their emotional and social development

What We're Looking For

• A degree in any relevant subject
• A genuine interest in working with children and young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, resilience and a positive attitude
• The ability to build strong relationships
• A willingness to learn about different SEN needs and support strategies

Previous school experience is not essential. Full training and guidance will be provided.
