Are you an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity to develop your specialist SEND knowledge?
Protocol Education are working with a specialist provision in Gateshead seeking a dedicated TA to support pupils with physical and/or medical needs.
You'll gain hands-on experience supporting children to access their education through personalised support, specialist equipment and assistive technology.
What You'll Do
- Support pupils on an individual and small-group basis.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Help children access lessons and wider school life.
- Support the use of assistive technology.
- Set up and check specialist equipment.
- Encourage independence and participation.
- Support alternative communication and recording methods.
- Work alongside specialist teachers and wider professionals.
- Provide observations and feedback on pupil progress.
- Ensure equipment and support strategies are used safely.
We're Looking For
- A Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
- Previous SEND experience.
- Experience supporting physical or medical needs.
- Good ICT skills and willingness to learn new technology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- A flexible, patient and proactive approach.
- Confidence working across different settings.
- A full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
