Protocol Education is looking for a Psychology Graduate to join a Gateshead school as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant.

You'll provide consistent, individualised support to a pupil who needs additional help accessing learning and navigating the school environment.

It's an opportunity to put your understanding of behaviour and development into practice while developing valuable SEND experience.

Your Responsibilities

You could be supporting with:

Classroom learning
Concentration and engagement
Communication
Emotional regulation
Social interaction
Positive behaviour
Confidence
Independence
Transitions and routines
Individual learning activities

You'll work closely with the teacher and wider support team, sharing observations and helping maintain consistency in the pupil's support.

What Makes a Good 1:1 Teaching Assistant?

You need to be able to understand that one strategy won't work for every pupil.

A Psychology degree is desirable, but related graduate backgrounds may also be considered.
