We are recruiting a full-time Reception Teacher for a Gateshead primary school with a strong focus on communication and language development.

About the role:

You’ll lead a Reception class where early communication, language skills, and social interaction are a key priority.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Delivering structured phonics and language sessions
  • Supporting children with speech, communication, and interaction
  • Using storytelling, role-play, and discussion to develop confidence
  • Working closely with support staff to meet individual needs
  • Observing and tracking progress across all areas of development
  • Creating a calm, language-rich environment

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS
  • Strong interest in early communication and development
  • A patient, engaging, and supportive teaching style
  • Ability to adapt learning for a range of needs
