Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Are you a confident, personable Teaching Assistant who enjoys building genuine relationships with young people?

Protocol Education are working with a calm, structured and academically focused school in Gateshead that is looking for a Teaching Assistant who will become an active part of school life.

This is not a role where you will be expected to simply sit at the back of a classroom. The school is looking for someone who is engaging, proactive and confident getting involved with pupils throughout the day.

The Role

You will:

• Build positive and professional relationships with students
• Support pupils during lessons and actively engage with their learning
• Work with students 1:1 and in small groups
• Move around the classroom and provide support where needed
• Help pupils improve their literacy, spelling and written communication
• Encourage pupils to stay focused and engaged
• Get involved in breakfast and lunchtime activities
• Support students socially through activities and conversations
• Contribute to a calm and positive school environment
• Support with tutor-group administration and pupil progress over time

You will be expected to eat alongside students at breakfast and lunch and actively engage with them, helping to create strong relationships beyond the classroom.

The Person

The school is not necessarily looking for the most experienced TA. Personality and attitude are hugely important.

You could be:

• A Teaching Assistant with school experience
• A graduate looking to start a career in education

• Someone with strong experience working with teenagers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
