We are partnered with a global construction business to appoint a Contracts Manager within their UK delivery team.

The role will suit an experienced Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or Project Lead with a strong main contractor background, proven leadership capability and a track record of delivering complex projects safely, on programme and within budget.

About the Opportunity - Contracts Manager

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of a major project or a portfolio of works, ensuring programme, commercial, quality and safety standards are achieved. Working closely with project, construction, commercial and client teams, taking a visible leadership role across planning, delivery, subcontractor management, reporting, risk management and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities - Contracts Manager

  • Agree project objectives with relevant stakeholdersProvide advice on the management and delivery of projects
  • Attend pre-tender and tender handover meetings
  • Plan projects to ensure they are programmed for successful delivery
  • Deliver pre-site meetings to the site team
  • Ensure site team compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure the project is running in line with programme and budget
  • Implement risk management processes
  • Review risk registers and ensure risk controls are in place
  • Maintain an efficient and well-managed construction site
  • Deliver projects to the highest quality standards
  • Ensure QA documentation is produced and maintained
  • Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs and forecasts
  • Manage budgeting, resources and forward planning
  • Review CVRs on a monthly basis with the project team and implement necessary actions
  • Coordinate the various professional teams working on the project
  • Build and maintain relationships with the client and external customers
  • Promote the highest standards of health and safety across the project

Key Skills - Contracts Manager

  • Degree in Civil Engineering preferable
  • Third-level qualification in Construction Management
  • Membership of a recognised professional body
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to prepare reports and manage the necessary project documentation
