We’re working with a leading MEP contractor who are looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their project delivery team on a major data centre project in Germany.

This is a site-based opportunity for a Mechanical Supervisor with a strong background in mechanical construction, building services or mechanical trades, ideally within data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or large-scale commercial projects.

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical installation works, coordinating direct labour and subcontractors while ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day delivery of mechanical installation works on site.
• Coordinate mechanical trades, direct labour and subcontractors.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, engineering and wider project teams to deliver key milestones.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme and identify or escalate potential delays and constraints.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and safe systems of work are in place before activities commence.
• Maintain high EHS standards and work closely with the site EHS team.
• Coordinate mechanical works with other MEP disciplines and the wider construction programme.
• Attend daily coordination and planning meetings with the main contractor and project stakeholders.
• Monitor installation quality and work alongside QA and Commissioning teams.
• Drive a “snag as we go” approach and ensure punch-list items are closed efficiently.
• Coordinate material requirements and ensure equipment, pipework, fittings and other materials are available when required.
• Ensure plant, equipment and access systems are being used safely and correctly.
• Manage relevant mechanical permits, including hot works where required.
• Ensure subcontractors and operatives have the required training, competencies and certifications.
• Maintain accurate site records and support project reporting.
• Provide effective site leadership, coaching and support to apprentices and less-experienced team members.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience within mechanical construction or the mechanical trades.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Foreman, Mechanical Site Manager or in a similar supervisory position.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installation.
• Experience supervising mechanical trades and subcontractors on active construction sites.
• Good understanding of construction safety, permit-to-work systems and site risk management.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Strong understanding of programme, quality and installation requirements.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Project Management, Engineering, QA, Commissioning, EHS and other construction disciplines.

Sector Experience

Experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial or other technically complex MEP projects would be highly advantageous.
