Senior MEP Project Manager – Data Centres

I am currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior MEP Project Manager for major engineering projects in Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering contractor operating across the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical and Industrial sectors, with a significant pipeline of European projects extending over the next 5+ years.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical packages, leading project teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsiblities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Take full ownership of the MEP project lifecycle from planning through to completion and handover.
• Develop and manage project execution plans, programmes and key deliverables.
• Ensure MEP delivery aligns with project budgets, programmes and client expectations.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, commercial and site functions.
• Drive high-performance standards across all areas of project delivery.
• Ensure effective coordination between mechanical, electrical and other project disciplines.

Commercial & Programme Management

• Manage project cost control, forecasting and overall budget performance.
• Work closely with commercial teams to manage variations, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Develop and monitor short-term and long-term project programmes.
• Track project milestones and ensure delivery remains on programme.
• Provide accurate commercial and progress reporting to senior management and stakeholders.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key interface between the contractor, client, consultants and wider project stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings, technical workshops and progress reviews.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
• Represent the company at a senior level across project communications.
• Ensure client expectations and project requirements are consistently met.

People & Team Management

• Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary project teams.
• Coordinate engineering, commercial, construction and commissioning teams.
• Drive collaboration between internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Take responsibility for team performance and development.
• Promote a positive, professional and high-performance project culture.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Ensure full compliance with company HSEQ standards and project-specific requirements.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the project.
• Oversee implementation of quality control processes.
• Ensure MEP installations are delivered to the required quality and specification.
• Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and project delivery.

Technical & MEP Delivery

• Oversee the delivery of mechanical and electrical systems in line with design, specifications and client requirements.
• Review and manage engineering deliverables and installation practices.
• Ensure effective design coordination and buildability across MEP services.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical installation activities.
• Support testing, commissioning and final handover of MEP systems.
• Ensure all MEP systems are fully integrated and delivered in accordance with project requirements.

MEP Scope

Experience across major MEP packages, ideally including:

• Mechanical building services
• HVAC systems
• Chilled water systems
• Cooling systems
• CRAC / CRAH systems
• Pumps and pipework
• Ventilation
• Electrical distribution
• HV / LV systems
• Generators and UPS
• BMS / EPMS
• Testing and commissioning
• Integrated MEP systems

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience as a MEP Project Manager / Senior MEP Project Manager / MEP Manager on large-scale projects.
• Strong experience managing both mechanical and electrical MEP packages.
• Experience managing projects with €20M+ MEP scope highly desirable.
• Previous Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical or Industrial project experience.
• Strong project leadership and multidisciplinary team management experience.
• Strong commercial awareness, including cost control, forecasting and variations.
• Proven programme management experience.
• Strong client, consultant and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience overseeing MEP installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
