Overview

As a BMS / Controls Project Manager, you will take ownership of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Controls packages, ensuring their successful delivery from design coordination through installation, commissioning, and final handover. The role provides strong exposure to advanced building technologies and critical infrastructure, supporting both your technical and professional growth.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Lead the delivery of BMS and PMS packages, ensuring alignment with the overall project programme, scope, and client requirements.
• Manage the full project lifecycle for controls systems, from design coordination and procurement through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate closely with MEP teams, automation specialists, commissioning engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless system integration.
• Oversee the design review process, ensuring BMS/PMS solutions meet project specifications, performance requirements, and industry standards.
• Act as a key interface between stakeholders, including clients, consultants, vendors, and construction teams.
• Ensure all health, safety, and compliance requirements are met, acting as a visible leader in promoting safe working practices onsite.
• Monitor project progress, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to design, installation, and system integration.
• Manage specialist subcontractors and controls vendors, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to programme milestones.
• Track and control project costs, including variations, labour, materials, and subcontractor performance.
• Lead regular coordination meetings, providing updates on progress, risks, and technical challenges.
• Work closely with QA/QC and commissioning teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and validated to the highest standards.
• Drive the commissioning and handover process, ensuring all documentation, testing records, and training requirements are completed.

We Would Love to Hear From You If You:

• Have proven experience as a Project Manager or Package Manager delivering BMS, controls, or automation systems on large-scale projects (data centres, industrial, or commercial developments).
• Possess strong technical knowledge of BMS, PMS, and integrated building control systems, including their architecture and interfaces.
• Have experience managing controls vendors, system integrators, and specialist subcontractors.
• Understand the full lifecycle of controls systems delivery, from design and procurement through to commissioning and handover.
• Hold a degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Automation, or a related field.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Are confident in managing programme, cost, and quality across a technical work package.
• Have a solid understanding of commissioning processes and system validation within a construction environment.
• Are proactive, detail-oriented, and able to solve complex technical and coordination challenges.
• Thrive in a collaborative environment and are effective at building relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
