Overview

As an L4/L5 IST Specialist on a hyperscale data centre project, you will play a key role in the execution and validation of integrated systems testing. Acting as part of the client’s commissioning and delivery team, you will focus on ensuring that all critical systems are functionally tested, coordinated, and validated through Levels 4 and 5 commissioning to achieve full operational readiness.

You will work closely with commissioning managers, contractors, and vendors to deliver a structured and compliant IST process, ensuring systems perform reliably under real-world and failure scenarios.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Support the development and execution of L4/L5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST) strategies and procedures.
• Lead and coordinate end-to-end IST activities, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Execute and manage integrated testing scenarios, including failure mode testing of critical systems.
• Review and contribute to IST scripts, method statements, and test documentation.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and controls teams to ensure systems are ready for integrated testing.
• Participate in and lead IST workshops, planning sessions, and daily coordination meetings.
• Monitor site activities and perform inspections during commissioning and IST phases.
• Identify, track, and help resolve technical issues, defects, and system integration risks.
• Ensure all testing activities are conducted in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Record, validate, and report test results, progress, and system performance metrics.
• Support final handover documentation and operational readiness validation.

We Would Love to Hear From You If You:

• Have hands-on experience in L4/L5 commissioning or IST on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Possess strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, BMS/EPMS, and cooling systems.
• Are experienced in executing integrated system test scripts, including failure testing and scenario-based validation.
• Understand system interfaces, dependencies, and critical path commissioning activities.
• Hold a degree in engineering, building services, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Are detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, safety, and reliability.
• Demonstrate effective communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative project environment.
