- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 18:00
- Friday: 07:30 - 16:00
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction business delivering major infrastructure and industrial projects across the UK.
This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of electrical installation, commissioning, and project engineering activities on a large-scale project. Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, designers, and clients, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This position would suit someone with a strong background in electrical engineering within sectors such as water treatment, utilities, industrial, construction, process engineering, or infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage electrical subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical electrical engineering support during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and project close-out phases.
- Oversee and supervise electrical installation activities, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Review technical documentation and resolve engineering queries, design issues, and non-conformances in a timely manner.
- Monitor project progress, support planning activities, and contribute to programme management to ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, site records, and technical documentation as required.
- Witness and oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning activities, and final handover processes.
- Ensure all electrical systems are tested, commissioned, and documented in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, quality documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality assurance across all site activities.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support the implementation of best practice engineering solutions.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering electrical packages on construction, infrastructure, utilities, water treatment, energy, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Strong working knowledge of:
o Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems
o Instrumentation and control systems
o Electrical testing and commissioning
o Electrical installation standards and regulations
- Ability to interpret and review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship requirements.
