RE Teacher - Secondary Schools in Hartlepool

Protocol Education are currently working in partnership with a number of welcoming and forward-thinking secondary schools across Hartlepool who are looking to appoint a passionate Religious Education Teacher from September 2026.

If you're an enthusiastic educator who can bring Religious Studies to life, encourage meaningful discussion, and inspire students to think critically about the world around them, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a full-time position, offering stability, strong support, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a thriving school community.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students explore a range of beliefs, cultures, and ethical issues whilst developing strong analytical and communication skills.

Alongside your teaching responsibilities, you'll also take on the role of Form Tutor, supporting students' personal development, wellbeing, and academic progress throughout the school year.

You'll be joining a collaborative department where ideas, resources, and best practice are shared to ensure both staff and students thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching Religious Education at KS3 and KS4
  • Can inspire, challenge, and motivate learners of all abilities
  • Is passionate about creating engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and sharing ideas with colleagues
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development

Position Details

  • Location: Hartlepool
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: MPS/UPS, paid to scale
  • Planning and Marking: Included
  • Form Tutor Responsibilities: Included
