Huddersfield & Halifax | September start | Flexible working | Long-term & Short-term roles

Thinking about teaching, but not quite ready to take the plunge?

This could be your perfect first step.

We’re working with a range of secondary schools across Kirklees and Calderdale who are looking for Cover Supervisors from September. Whether you want full-time consistency or flexible, pick-your-days working, we’ll help find something that fits around you.

What you’ll be doing

No planning, no marking, just stepping in and keeping things moving.

  • Delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of a teacher
  • Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students on task
  • Supporting students aged 11 to 16 with their learning
  • Creating a calm, focused environment where students can succeed
  • Gaining hands-on experience in a real classroom setting

Every day is different, and that’s half the fun.

Why this role is a great route into teaching

If you’re considering a career in education, there’s no better way to get a feel for it.

  • Build confidence in the classroom
  • Develop behaviour management skills that schools really value
  • Gain experience across different subjects and year groups
  • Open doors to teacher training opportunities

It’s real experience, not theory.

Who this role suits

  • Graduates exploring a future in teaching
  • People from care, youth work, coaching, or support roles
  • Confident communicators who can lead a room with presence and positivity
  • Anyone looking for flexible work that still makes a real impact

You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, just someone who can connect with young people and keep things on track.

What you’ll get

  • Flexible work that fits around your schedule
  • Opportunities in local schools, no long commutes
  • Ongoing support from a team who get education
  • A chance to build a career, or simply do meaningful work
