SEN Teaching Assistant

Huddersfield, HD9
£95 - £105 per day
Full-Time | Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner)

Looking to make a real difference, every single day?

Some children need a little extra support to thrive in the classroom. That's where you come in.

We're working with a welcoming and inclusive school in the HD9 area of Huddersfield that's looking for a caring, patient, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

Whether you're an experienced SEN TA or someone with transferable skills from care, youth work, coaching, or support work, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Working with children with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them
  • Building positive relationships that encourage confidence and engagement
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, care, youth work, or support settings
  • Is calm, resilient, and adaptable
  • Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, or complex needs
  • Behaviour management experience
  • Personal or professional experience supporting SEND
  • Thrive training or trauma-informed practice experience
