Autism Support Worker - SEND School (Gateshead)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming SEND school in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated Autism Support Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.

Location: Gateshead
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only

The Role

As an Autism Support Worker, you will work alongside experienced staff to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, regulate emotions and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism
• Promote positive communication and social interaction
• Support learning activities tailored to individual needs
• Assist with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Help students work towards EHCP outcomes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
