Teaching Assistant - Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD)

£92.63 - £100 per day

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD)? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and caring individuals to join specialist schools and SEN provisions in the Kingston area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive educational environment.

The Role

As an SLD Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with Severe Learning Disabilities on a one-to-one and small group basis.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Help deliver tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Promote student independence, communication and social development.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), physical disabilities and sensory impairments.
  • Create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have previous experience supporting children or adults with SLD, complex needs or SEN.
  • Are patient, resilient and nurturing.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Are comfortable supporting personal care needs where necessary.
  • Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant care/support experience (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
