Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner 

Are you someone who thrives under pressure and excels at building positive relationships with children who find school challenging?

We’re currently recruiting Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners  for primary schools across Bristol. 

These rewarding roles are ideal for individuals who recognise that challenging behaviour is often a form of communication and are passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.

You may work on a 1:1 basis, with small intervention groups, or provide support to pupils within their mainstream classroom environment, helping them to engage, achieve, and flourish both academically and socially.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing consistant routines and boundaries
  • Recognisng triggers befroe situations escalate
  • Building positive relationships that help children feel safe, valued and ready to learn
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to help every pupil succeed
  • Celebrating the small wins, because they often become the biggest breakthroughs

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (school or alternative settings)
  • Calm and patience, even in high-pressure situations
  • The ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
