Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working with children before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Mental Health, Speech and Language Therapy, Teaching, or SEN?

We are working with a number of mainstream primary schools seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join their teams as Teaching Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your understanding of child development, behaviour, learning needs, and special educational needs within a school setting.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 within the classroom
  • Working with children on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
  • Assisting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Encouraging pupil confidence, independence, and social development
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to school staff

Ideal Candidate

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject
  • A genuine interest in child development, education, and mental health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
