Summary
A principal contractor specialising in railway and civil engineering Is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team at in their Head Office in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.
You will be working on Railway & Civil Engineering projects ranging from £300k to £2.5m, with an average of £600k
The main duties of the role include:
- Developing client relationships by maintaining regular contact and meetings
- Monitoring contract costs against agreed budgets
- Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements, ensuring all contract correspondence is recorded
- Supplying relevant commercial information and reports to the Senior QS and Commercial Manager for review, such as CVR's, periodic valuations/ applications and cash flow forecasting.
- Identifying potential financial risks and evaluate options to mitigate these
- Produce, submit and agree final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements
- Liaising with the Supply Chain for the procurement, negotiation and placing of subcontract and supplier orders
- Overseeing the procedures for certification of contract payments/variations and settle final accounts to sub-contractors, in line with agreed terms and conditions]
Person Specification:
Seeking a Quantity Surveyor with:
- BSc Quantity Surveying (or similar) - Essential
- A minimum of 2-3 years' experience working within a contracting environment - Essential
- The ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised - Essential
- General knowledge of NEC forms of contract - Desirable
- Experience with Civil Engineering in the Rail Sector - Desirable
- The ability to manage a fast paced, high-volume turnover of orders, with high standards of project performance and customer satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders
Salary: Circa £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE) plus package including;
