SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
Contract: Full-time

A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, develop confidence and make positive progress both academically and socially.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs within the classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Helping pupils engage with lessons and school activities
• Supporting pupils with their communication, social and emotional development
• Implementing individual learning and support strategies
• Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other support staff
• Promoting positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment

• A strong communicator and team player
• Previous experience working with SEN pupils is desirable

Working hours: 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
