Our Credit Oversight team

Our Borrowing (lending) business is growing rapidly. As our lending portfolio grows, our second line of defence Credit Risk Oversight team is growing with it.

Our Credit Risk Oversight team provides support and challenge to our Borrowing teams to help Monzo grow safely. We are looking for someone with proven experience in consumer credit risk who likes getting into the details and analysing data to deliver independent assurance and challenge of credit risk management across the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

Provide ongoing oversight of credit risk, including analysing performance of lending products and developing monitoring metrics
Partner with first line teams to support credit strategy changes and new product launches
Deliver data-driven insight, feedback and challenge on credit strategies
Lead second line assurance work on thematic reviews
Collaborate with model validation and development teams
Provide credit expertise into strategic projects such as stress-testing and forecasting
Support maintenance and embedding of the Credit Risk Framework

What we’d love to hear from you

Strong background in credit risk management within consumer or small business lending (unsecured products such as credit cards, loans or overdrafts particularly beneficial)
Proven analytical skills and experience using credit risk scorecards and NPV models
Strong technical toolkit; SQL is a must-have
Experience with data visualisation tools (Looker, PowerBI or Tableau) is a plus
Excited to explore AI tools to improve credit and risk processes
Clear communication skills for complex issues
Track record of building trusting stakeholder relationships while providing effective challenge
