- Planning and delivering creative, accessible lessons that reflect pupils' individual learning needs.
- Supporting children and young people with ASD, SEMH and other additional learning difficulties.
- Establishing a calm, consistent and supportive classroom environment.
- Using flexible teaching strategies to engage pupils with different learning styles and abilities.
- Working closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to provide effective, individualised support.
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, independence and self-confidence.
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting learning activities to encourage continued development.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about inclusive education and committed to helping every pupil reach their potential.
You will ideally have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A patient, understanding and flexible approach to teaching.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to adapt lessons and respond positively to individual challenges.
- A commitment to creating a safe, structured and encouraging learning environment.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs, although mainstream teaching experience is welcomed.
