We have a great opportunity for an Outsourcing Accounts Senior to join our team in the Manchester office.

Join our Outsourced Accounting Services team and work with a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting support alongside an advisory-led service. You’ll take ownership of more complex accounts prepared under UK GAAP, support clients across their finance function from source records and management accounts through to year-end statutory financial statements, and work closely with Accounts Managers to ensure a consistently high standard of delivery. You’ll also have the opportunity to support and develop more junior members of the team, helping them build their knowledge and confidence.

You’ll play a key role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients, taking ownership of their accounting requirements while building strong relationships and delivering a high-quality, proactive service.
✅ Take ownership of preparing management accounts, working closely with clients and Menzies Managers to understand and support their accounting needs.
✅ Prepare statutory accounts, consolidations and financial reports, alongside a variety of other client assignments.
✅Maintain accurate accounting records and working papers, including preparing and posting month-end adjustments.
✅ Prepare and complete VAT returns, confidently applying your technical accounting knowledge.
✅ Get involved in interesting ad hoc projects, including cloud accounting conversions, setting up bespoke reporting and helping clients bring their accounts up to date.
✅ Build trusted relationships with clients, Relationship Managers and Partners, becoming a valued point of contact.
✅ Support, supervise and develop junior colleagues, helping them grow their skills while ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
✅ Collaborate with teams across Menzies to provide clients with a joined-up service and identify opportunities where we can add further value. What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone with a solid grounding in accounting who is ready to take on more responsibility, work closely with clients and continue developing their career within Outsourced Accounting Services.

You’ll ideally bring:
· At least 2 years’ accounting experience within an accountancy practice, with experience preparing accounts under UK GAAP.
· You’ll be ACA or ACCA qualified or working towards your qualification, with a desire to continue developing your technical expertise.
· Confidence working directly with clients and senior stakeholders, building strong relationships and providing a high-quality service.
· The ability to take ownership of your work, manage priorities and deliver assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines.
· Strong technical accounting knowledge, with the ability to apply it confidently to real client situations.
· Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Dext, CaseWare and QuickBooks, alongside strong Excel skills.
· A collaborative approach; you’ll enjoy working as part of a team while also being comfortable managing your own workload.
· Excellent attention to detail and a reputation for being organised, dependable and proactive.
· An interest in supporting and developing junior colleagues, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow.
·         A willingness to collaborate with colleagues across Menzies and build relationships across different service lines.
