Civil Project Manager - Substation Projects
Location: Newcastle / Northeast

Salary: £75,000-£80,000 + benefits
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to support the delivery of major substation and power infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Project Manager looking to develop their career within the power sector, or an experienced professional looking to take responsibility for the civil delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the delivery of civil works associated with substation projects from planning through to completion.

Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, engineering teams and other project stakeholders.

Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery milestones.

Monitor project performance, quality, health and safety and commercial requirements.

Identify and manage project risks, issues and changes.

Ensure civil works are delivered in accordance with design, specifications and contractual requirements.

Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.

Support project reporting, documentation and close-out activities.

Develop effective working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced members of the project team where required.
About You
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in civil project management and construction delivery.
Ideally, you will have experience within:

Substation projects
-
Power infrastructure
-
Electrical infrastructure
-
Civil engineering and construction
-
Foundations and concrete structures
Direct substation experience is highly desirable, but candidates with strong transferable civil project management experience will also be considered.
You should have:

Proven experience managing civil construction projects.

Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.

Good understanding of project programmes, costs and risk.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.

Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
Qualifications
No specific chartership or professional qualification is essential. We are primarily interested in relevant project management experience, technical capability and the ability to successfully deliver projects.
Working Arrangements
The role is based in Newcastle, with a hybrid working arrangement of typically 2-3 days per week in the Newcastle office, with flexibility depending on project requirements.
Some travel to project sites may also be required.
