About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Mansfield. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality Science education, inspiring students to develop curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their career within a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable).
- Teach Science in accordance with the National Curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and effective classroom management.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental initiatives.
- Support STEM activities, science clubs, educational visits, and enrichment opportunities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Degree in Science or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Previous teaching experience is desirable; ECTs are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
