We're working with a range of welcoming schools and specialist settings across Middlesbrough who are looking for caring, resilient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams.
Whether you've supported children in schools before or you've built valuable experience in care, support work, residential settings, or youth work, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
You'll be supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs, including:
• Autism (ASC)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
• ADHD
• Challenging behaviours
• Communication and interaction needs
Some roles involve 1:1 support, while others involve working with small groups or supporting across the classroom. The common thread? Helping young people feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
What we're looking for
✅ Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults
✅ A calm, patient, and positive approach
✅ Confidence building relationships and managing challenging situations
✅ SEN qualifications are desirable, but not essential
✅ A background in care, support work, youth work, mental health services, or residential care will be considered
✅ An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS
