SEMH Teaching Assistant Required in Mitcham

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils who may face behavioural, emotional, and social challenges, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential both academically and personally.

The Role:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Support students in regulating emotions and developing positive behaviours
Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
Encourage participation, independence, and self-confidence
Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs is desirable
A patient, calm, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Backgrounds in education, youth work, care, mentoring, sports coaching, or support work are encouraged to apply
