Teaching Assistant / Support Worker – Secure Education Setting

Protocol Education is seeking Teaching Assistants and Support Workers to support young people within a specialist children's secure unit.

The education team works to help young people continue learning and develop important skills despite the challenges they may be facing.

You'll play an important role in helping create a positive learning environment where young people can feel supported, understood and encouraged to make progress.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting young people to access education
• Providing 1:1 and small-group assistance
• Helping with classroom activities
• Encouraging engagement and participation
• Supporting communication and interaction
• Promoting positive behaviour
• Helping young people develop independence
• Supporting emotional regulation
• Following individual learning and support plans
• Working closely with teaching and care teams

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with young people and is confident providing structure and encouragement.

Relevant experience could include Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Residential Worker or Care Worker.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
