Teaching Assistant / Support Worker – Secure Unit

Protocol Education is recruiting for roles within a children's secure unit, supporting young people who need a high level of structure, consistency and individual support.

The role

You'll support young people throughout their day, helping them engage with education and develop positive routines.

You may be responsible for:

• 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting learning and educational activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour
• Helping young people manage emotions
• Supporting communication and social development
• Building professional relationships
• Encouraging independence and responsibility
• Following individual plans
• Working alongside teachers, care staff and other professionals
• Maintaining a safe and structured environment

Your experience

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

• SEND
• SEMH
• PRUs or alternative provision
• Residential care
• Children's services
• Youth work
• Behaviour support
• Education
• Social care

You should be confident, patient and resilient, with the ability to remain calm and professional when faced with challenging situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
