BSL Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is recruiting a BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist educational setting in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only

About the Role

You will work closely with deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, supporting communication, learning and social development throughout the school day.

What You'll Be Doing

Providing classroom support using BSL
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting with lesson delivery and learning activities
Promoting inclusion and independence
Supporting communication between pupils and staff
Building positive relationships with learners

We're Looking For

BSL qualification or strong signing experience
Experience working with children or young people
Excellent communication skills
Patient and supportive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
