Are you a Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to develop your experience within a specialist SEND environment?
A specialist SEND school in Newcastle is looking for an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with physical, medical and additional learning needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with assistive technology, specialist equipment, accessible learning and individualised support.
The Role
- Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
- Support pupils with physical and medical requirements.
- Adapt learning activities and classroom resources.
- Assist with specialist technology and equipment.
- Support communication and access to the curriculum.
- Encourage independence, confidence and engagement.
- Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals.
- Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback.
- Help maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- Experience or understanding of physical and/or medical needs.
- Confident ICT skills and willingness to learn specialist systems.
- Patient, adaptable and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle – essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
