Protocol Education is looking for enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to join SEN schools across Gateshead as Teaching Assistants from September 2026.
You don’t need years of classroom experience. What matters most is your ability to build relationships, remain patient and genuinely want to help children succeed.
Position Details
- Location: SEN schools across Gateshead and Newcastle
- Start: September 2026
- Hours: Monday-Friday, full-time
- Pay: £92.63-£98 per day
- Position: Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
What Your Day Could Look Like
No two days will necessarily be the same.
You might spend the morning supporting a pupil 1:1, help deliver an intervention before lunch and then work alongside the teacher during an afternoon lesson.
You’ll help pupils with:
- Emotional regulation
- Behaviour and social development
- Communication
- Classroom routines
- Confidence and independence
- Accessing their education
You may also support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other SEND needs.
What You'll Gain

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
