Looking for flexible education work that fits around your schedule while making a real difference to young people's lives?
Protocol Education is recruiting SEND Tutors to support pupils across Newcastle, North Tyneside and surrounding areas who require additional academic support outside of a traditional classroom setting.
These sessions are typically delivered on a 1:1 basis and can take place in the home, community settings or alternative provisions. Many pupils may have Autism, SEMH needs, ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance or EHCP requirements.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for experienced educators who are passionate about helping young people rebuild confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
Location: Newcastle, Jesmond, Heaton, Wallsend, North Shields and surrounding areas
Pay: £25 - £35 per hour (Dependent on Experience)
Contract: Flexible, Hourly Bookings
Hours: Varying bookings available throughout the week
About the Role
As a SEND Tutor, you'll deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions tailored to each pupil's individual needs and ability levels.
Many pupils may have experienced barriers within mainstream education, so building positive relationships and creating a supportive learning environment will be just as important as delivering academic content.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering 1:1 tuition sessions
- Planning personalised learning activities
- Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
- Building confidence and engagement with learning
- Adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback
- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with families and professionals where appropriate
We're Looking For
- Qualified Teachers (QTS) or experienced Tutors
- Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH needs
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to individual learners
- Patient, resilient and nurturing approach
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD or additional learning needs desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
