About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment.

Working as part of the school's premises team, you will play an important role in ensuring the school site is safe, clean, secure and fully operational for students, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY across the school site.
• Complete daily checks of the buildings, grounds and facilities, reporting any issues promptly.
• Ensure the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained.
• Assist with setting up and moving furniture and equipment for lessons, meetings and school events.
• Carry out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks where appropriate.
• Support with opening and closing the school site, including security and alarm procedures.
• Monitor contractors and visitors attending the premises when required.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, sports facilities and school grounds.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
• Follow all school health and safety, safeguarding and security procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
