Summary
Navartis Recruitment have partnered with a civil engineering company based in Newport on the Isle of Wight who are responsible for maintaining and improving the Isle of Wight's highway network.
They are looking to hire for a motivated and technically strong individual with a background in in civil engineering to join the business as a Project Manager to join their Structures Team on the Isle of Wight.
The company have responsibility for around 200 bridges and 600 retaining walls in the area and you'll play a key role in managing some of the Island's most important assets and ensuring they remain safe, resilient and fit for the future.
The role would suit a strong graduate civil or structural engineer or project manager with some post graduate experience in civil engineering / structures industry.
The role is based on the island 3 - 4 days a week with home based working and the client will pay travel costs for candidates not based on the island but willing to commute over from Portsmouth / Southampton etc.
Seeking someone with
- HND / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
- Relevant industry experience in civil engineering, structures or asset projects
- Excellent written, verbal and numerical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Confident communicator who can build positive working relationships
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Expereince
- Experience using MS Project and AutoCAD
- Background in design management, lifecycle schemes or structural assessments
Responsibilities include
- Managing multiple structures improvement, strengthening and lifecycle schemes across all project phases
- Supporting the development of the annual structures programme
- Creating clear, practical outline design solutions that meet asset needs
- Securing all required approvals, permits and consents
- Leading and coordinating design management activities
- Ensuring projects meet all management, CDM, quality, safety and environmental requirements
- Responding to technical queries, supporting temporary works and ensuring safe site operations
- Engaging with residents, utilities, contractors, designers and the client to ensure smooth project delivery
Salary
Circa £35,000 - £45,000 per annum including car allowance, pension, travel and more.
