Protocol Education are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Food Technology to join a successful secondary school in Middlesbrough from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator with strong GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition experience who can inspire students through engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach Food Technology/Food Preparation and Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that develop students' practical cooking skills and theoretical understanding.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations.
- Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment within the food technology department.
- Monitor progress and provide targeted support to help students achieve their potential.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Has experience teaching Food Technology and GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Is passionate about developing students' knowledge of nutrition, food science and practical cookery skills.
- Can motivate and inspire learners of all abilities.
- Has strong organisational and communication skills.
