About the Role
I am currently working with a specialist subcontractor based in the Midlands who is looking to recruit a Design Engineer with Piling and Sheet piling experience immediately. The successful candidate will need to be proficient in working with design software such as AutoCAD /Wallap /OASYS and have demonstrable experience working on projects within Rail, Highways, Ground Engineering or Environmental work.

This is a fully remote position with high levels of trust and autonomy given to individuals to do the best job possible. There will be the expectation that you will travel into the office as and when required. 

Key responsibilities for this Design Engineer role:
- Prepare geotechnical & structural designs for piling solutions, retaining walls, etc.
- Work with the client to develop the plans and feasibility studies producing quotes and estimates along with the estimator.
- Generate Bill of Materials and produces cost estimates.
- Attend site measurements and meetings as and when necessary.
- Build long standing relationships with clients and advise on possibilities.
- Show commercial awareness looking for opportunities to improve design effectiveness.
- Communicate clear ideas and ensure all relevant parties are in communication and being regularly updated.

Key requirements for this Design Engineer role:
- Must have a BEng in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
- Chartered Membership of ICE or working towards.
- Good working knowledge of Geotechnical Standards and applicability to the construction and residential sectors.

Package on offer for this Design Engineer Role:
- Salary up to £57,000
- Fully Remote 
- Car Allowance.
- 37.5Hour work week.
