1. About the Company
The company operates within the civil engineering and infrastructure sector, delivering major construction projects.
The Sub Agent will work within a project environment, coordinating construction activities and working closely with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, client representatives and designers.
2. About the Role
The Sub Agent will lead the construction team within an assigned area of responsibility, overseeing the delivery of works against project, programme and commercial requirements.
The role will involve managing subcontractors, coordinating with other areas of the project, monitoring progress and resources, and managing junior members of the team.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the required documentation, temporary works, quality records and project controls are in place before and during construction.
3. The key responsibilities for this Sub Agent role are:

Lead the construction team within the assigned area

Manage works to meet project, programme and commercial requirements

Coordinate activities with other project areas
-
Manage and support junior staff
-
Review plant, labour and material usage against planned requirements

Identify resource variances and develop action plans
-
Manage subcontractors and chair regular subcontractor meetings
-
Maintain detailed knowledge of subcontractor scopes and site progress
-
Assess subcontractor payment applications and variations with the commercial team

Ensure works comply with health, safety and environmental requirements
-
Manage works in accordance with project specifications
-
Produce and maintain a minimum three-month look-ahead programme
-
Review progress against programme and identify variances
-
Develop recovery plans where programme slippage occurs
-
Provide programme updates and forecasts for reporting periods
-
Ensure temporary works documentation is produced and approved before works commence

Monitor temporary works throughout construction and dismantling
-
Review and approve relevant quality documentation
-
Ensure project documentation is approved and up to date
-
Maintain project records and documentation

Upload required records to project document control systems

Liaise with clients, designers and third-party representatives

Provide information for project reporting

Experience working within civil engineering and construction

Experience leading construction teams within an area of responsibility

Understanding of commercial and contractual requirements

Experience monitoring labour, plant and material usage

Understanding of the responsibilities of contractors under CDM Regulations

Understanding of contract and company procedures
