Autism Support Assistant

Success in education looks different for every child. For some pupils, progress starts with a trusted adult who understands their needs and helps them navigate each day with confidence.

A welcoming SEN school in Peterlee is seeking a Part-Time Autism Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing tailored support to pupils with Autism.
Supporting communication and social interaction skills.
Encouraging independence and engagement in lessons.
Following structured routines and support plans.
Creating a calm and positive learning environment.
Working alongside teachers and SEN professionals.

We are looking for candidates who:

Have experience supporting Autism or additional needs.
Are patient, nurturing, and understanding.
Can work effectively within a team.
Have excellent communication skills.
Hold an Enhanced DBS or are willing to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
