Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for SEN Learning Support Assistants to work within primary and secondary schools across Peterlee and the surrounding area.

We're looking for enthusiastic people who want to develop their education experience while making a real difference to pupils with additional needs.

This could be a great opportunity if you're already working as a Teaching Assistant or LSA, or if you have transferable experience and are looking to move into education.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Working 1:1 and in small groups
• Supporting classroom learning
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged
• Reinforcing instructions
• Supporting reading, writing and numeracy
• Encouraging communication and social development
• Supporting positive behaviour
• Helping pupils become more independent
• Supporting pupils during transitions
• Assisting with practical and classroom activities
• Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime
• Building positive relationships
• Working closely with teaching and support staff

The role could involve working with pupils across a range of needs, including autism, learning difficulties, SEMH and communication needs.

Experience within a school is desirable, but not essential. We welcome applications from people with backgrounds in childcare, care, youth work, sports, mentoring and support work.
